Man charged after money stolen in Lowestoft robbery

The elderly victim was assaulted after answering his door last week

A man has been charged after an elderly man was robbed in Lowestoft.

The victim, in his 60s, was assaulted after he opened his door to a man a woman, believed to be known to him, on Hawthorne Avenue at around 11:10pm on Thursday (26 May).

He suffered minor injuries and had his wallet, containing several hundred pounds, stolen.

A man and a woman were arrested yesterday (29 May) in connection with the incident.

50 year old Leon Daws, of Burnham Way, was charged with robbery and one count of assault.

He's due to appear before Norwich Magistrates Court.

The woman has been released on bail until 27 June.
