Man bitten by dog in Lowestoft

Police want to find the animal's owner

Police are appealing for help to trace the owner of a dog after a man was bitten in Lowestoft.

It happened in Kensington Gardens near to the bowling green, on Tuesday 30 March at approximately 11:30am.

A medium-sized dog, believed to be a cross-breed Collie was with a man who was sitting outside the café.

Another man approached and reached out to stroke the dog when it lurched forward and bit him. The victim sustained lacerations to his hand which required hospital treatment.

Officers would like to speak to the owner of the dog who is described as white, in his 50s and of a portly build.
