Major fire at Port of King's Lynn now out

40 firefighters from King’s Lynn, West Walton, Downham Market and Methwold were in attendance.

A major fire at Kings Lynn's Alexandra Dock has been successfully brought under control by Norfolk Fire and Rescue.

More than 40 firefighters from King's Lynn, West Walton, Downham Market and Methwold were called to the blaze at a commercial building at around 12:30pm

Earlier, the fire service were urged people to stay away from the scene and keep doors and windows shut.

An environmental protection unit, Aerial Ladder Platform, police drone, command support unit and technical rescue vehicle were also on the scene.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue's Group Manager Terry Pinto said: "We will be scaling back the 200m exclusion zone in the next couple of hours.

We are now working with the site owners and Environment Agency and will have a presence on scene into this evening."
