Lowestoft shoplifter sentenced

A man has been given a suspended sentence after committing a number of shoplifting offences in Lowestoft.

51-year-old Lee Streeter, of no fixed abode, was arrested by police on Wednesday, 28 April, on suspicion of theft and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre, where he was subsequently charged with six counts of theft.

He appeared before Norwich Magistrates' Court yesterday, Thursday 29 April, where he pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 26 weeks' imprisonment, suspended for 12-months. He was also ordered to pay ÂŁ50 in compensation.

The thefts took place from a number of shops in Lowestoft between 17 and 28 April 2021. The value of the items stolen was more than ÂŁ800.
