A Lowestoft man has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 22 years, after being found guilty of 27 non-recent sexual offences.
49 year old Martin Ives, of Whiting Road, was accused of multiple counts of rape and sexual assault spanning a decade long period.
He was found guilty of the charges at Norwich Crown Court on Friday (August 19).
The judge in the case has suggested Ives can expect to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
DCI Anna Edmondson, of Suffolk Constabulary, said: “The SIU team and in particular Gary, I am sure, will have secured a great deal of satisfaction and a strong sense of reward from securing this conviction."
"The judge described Ives as possessing a significant risk and he engaged in an unending and predatory sexual abuse for over a decade so to see him behind bars for life is an extremely satisfying conclusion for everyone.”
DI Simon Bridgland, also from the Suffolk forcem said: “I’d like to pay tribute to the bravery and courage of the victims who came forward to make their disclosure to police. This is never easy to do and their evidence undoubtedly helped secure this conviction.
“This is serious and complex crime and is a really powerful example of the vital and important work that takes place in Safeguarding and our Investigation Units.
"Whilst Gary worked incredibly hard as case officer for this investigation, I would also like to thank staff at The Beeches for the support they provided him.
"This is an amazing team effort which highlights the close working relationships within the East Safeguarding team.”
