Lowestoft man arrested on suspicion of murder released on bail

It's after the sudden, unexplained death of a woman in her forties

Police have released a man from Lowestoft on bail - after he was arrested on suspicion of murder.

It comes after the sudden death of a woman in her forties over the weekend.

Police were called by the Ambulance Service at just after 7.10am on Saturday 1st March, reporting the death of a woman at a flat in London Road South.

Her death is currently unexplained, with preliminary results from a Home Office post-mortem examination that took place yesterday (Sunday 2 March) proving inconclusive.

Police tell us more investigations will take place.

On Saturday afternoon at 1.15pm, officers arrested a 49-year-old man from Lowestoft on suspicion of murder.

He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre, and was been bailed last night, to return to police on 30th May.

Detectives tell us they're treating this as an isolated incident, with the woman and suspect known to each other.
