King's Lynn Town recruit former West Ham man as assistant manager
Adrian Whitbread will help Mark Hughes next campaign
King's Lynn Town have recruited former Swindon and West Ham defender Adrian Whitbread to the role of assistant manager.
The 51 year old also plated for Leyton Orient and Portsmouth during his career on the pitch.
He has since turned to management and has been in charge at Puerto Rico Islanders, Puerto Rico FC and Antigua Barracuda in the Carribean.
He also had a stint in charge of the Bahrain under-23s team between 2014 and 2015.
Most recently he's been assistant boss at both Barnet and Chesterfield.
Whitbread joins Linnets manager Mark Hughes, as preparations begin for the new National League North Season.
Speaking to the KLFC website, Adrian said “I am super excited to be given the opportunity by Mark and King’s Lynn.
"I didn’t take any time to say yes having spoken to Mark, and look forward to meeting the staff, chairman, players and the fans”.
Manager Mark Hughes added: “To get someone with Adrian’s experience on board, not only in terms of playing, but also the coaching side of the game to Kings Lynn Town is massive for myself and for the players.
"I’m sure the players will feed off his energy and learn from his experiences in football.”
