A kayaker has been rescued off the coast of North Norfolk after getting into trouble in rough seas.

Sheringham RNLI’s inshore lifeboat The Oddfellows was launched this morning, locating the casualty in the water separated from his kayak.

The small boat had capsised and its passenger was attemping to make it back to shore.

They were transported back to dry land and handed over to emergency services on shore.

The RNLI is urging visitors to the coast to take appropriate safety equipment if going into the water.

If you get into trouble you can 'float to live' - lean back, use your arms and legs to stay afloat, control your breathing and then call for help or swim to safety.
