Indian variant of coronavirus has been found in Norfolk

Figures have been released to show how the new variant is spreading across the country.

14% of all covid cases in Breckland has been confirmed as the Indian variant.

It comes as more testing is being held to detect the more transmissible strain, which has been found in more than 80 local authorities across the UK.

South Norfolk has recorded 7% of cases being the new variant, whilst West Suffolk has recorded almost 2%.

The data, which is accessible here shows different strains on the virus in positive test results.
