£1,000 worth of heroin seized in Great Yarmouth

The drugs were recovered when officers stopped a Vauxhall Insignia on the Acle Straight

A 36-year-old man from Great Yarmouth has been charged after heroin worth more than £1,000 was seized during a vehicle stop.

Officers stopped a Vauxhall Insignia on the A47 Acle Straight in the early hours of Monday morning (19 October 2020).

Both the driver and passenger were arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

The driver, a 37-year-old man, was questioned and released under investigation.

The 36-year-old was the passenger in the car. He was found to have a large amount of heroin on his possession and was later charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Luis Vaz, of King Street, will appear at Norwich Crown Court next month.
