Man charged with firearm offence in King's Lynn

A 35-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm.

A 35-year-old has been charged after reports of a man with a gun in King’s Lynn.

Police received a number of calls on Saturday (17th August) after members of the public reported seeing someone with a firearm in the Gaywood Road and Loke Road areas.

Armed officers were deployed to search the area and, following further enquiries, arrested a man on Queen Mary Road at 8.30pm that evening.

He was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Michael O’Neill, from Lowfield, King’s Lynn, has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrate’s Court today.
