Police continue investigation after woman's body found on the A47
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
Norfolk Police are continuing their investigation after a woman's body was found on the A47 in Dereham.
A member of the public called the police at around half past midnight yesterday to report a body on the roadside. The body was later confirmed to be a woman in her 50s.
While officers do not know the full circumstances surrounding the woman's death, they believe she was hit by a vehicle on the eastbound carriageway of the A47 which failed to stop at the scene. Enquiries are currently being made to identify and find both the vehicle and driver involved.
Police are encouraging anyone who may have driven along the A47 in Dereham late on Tuesday night (16 September) and who may have relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
Officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the woman near the road before the collision. She was wearing a purple top with a burgundy fluffy jacket, black trousers, a black beanie style hat and black Adidas shoes.
