Greater Anglia trains cancelled after person hit by train between Ipswich and Norwich

Greater Anglia's trains between Ipswich and Norwich are severely delayed after a person was hit by a train earlier this morning.
British Transport Police officers were called to Diss earlier this morning, with the person found on the tracks being taken to hospital.
In a statement, British Transport Police told us: "Officers were called to Diss station at 11:30am today (22 August) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and a person is being taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
Greater Anglia says a very limited Rail Replacement Bus service will be in operation between Ipswich and Norwich, but that there are likely to be long waiting times for buses, due to a lack of available vehicles.
A spokesperson for the operator said: “We are sorry that customers are delayed between Norwich and London Liverpool Street. This is due to a person being hit by a train near Diss."
“It happened at around 11.30 and train services were unable to run while the emergency services attended.
“The line re-opened around 12.20 and services are returning to normal, although there are some knock-on delays.
“Anyone who is delayed for more than 15 minutes can claim delay repay at greateranglia.co.uk/delayrepay.”
