Prolific Norfolk thief sentenced for shop thefts

A 44-year-old woman has been sentenced following a spree of shop thefts across Gorleston and Great Yarmouth.

Danielle Massen, who has no fixed address, appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday (3rd November 2025) where she faced six counts of theft from shops and five counts of breaching a previously issued Criminal Behaviour Order.

The court also considered a further 20 theft offences during sentencing.

The six charged shop thefts took place over two months, starting on 31st August 2025 and ending on 1st November 2025.

Massen targeted stores on Beresford Road, Lowestoft Road, and Magdalen Way, stealing hundreds of pounds worth of items including confectionery, coffee, meat, cheese, and laundry products.

She was arrested by police on Saturday, 1st November, and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning before being charged and remanded to court.

At her court appearance on Monday, Massen was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, which was suspended for 12 months. She was also ordered to pay £75 in compensation.
