Girl seriously sexually assaulted in Thetford

Police are investigating a serious sexual assault in Thetford last night (3 June)

It happened shortly after 11.30pm on Ely Way, when a 16-year-old girl was approached by an unknown man, before being sexually assaulted.

The suspect is described as black, of slim build, approximately 6ft, aged in his late teens or early 20s, with black hair. He is believed to have been wearing black clothing.

A seal is currently in place at the location and enquiries are ongoing. Officers are conducting reassurance patrols in the area.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any information concerning it, to come forward.
