Four sentenced for County Lines drug dealing in Norfolk

A man and three teenagers were charged after a series of raids last year

Four people have been sentenced for their involvement in County Lines drug dealing in Norfolk.

A man and three teenagers appealing in Norwich Crown Court on October 21 after being convicted of supplying crack cocaine and heroin in Norwich over a five month period last year.

Edgar Mendes, age 24, of Norfolk Avenue, London, was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Pharell Thomas, age 19, of Ellerdine Road, Hounslow, was sentenced to two years in a young offenders’ institute, suspended for two years.

Kevy Kabula, age 18, of Darndale Close, London, was sentenced to two years in a young offenders’ institute, suspended for two years.

A 17-year-old boy from London, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was given a youth referral order for 12 months.

Thomas was initially arrested after being stopped on Onley Street in August 2021. He was found to be in possession of ÂŁ700 in cash.

Officers later raided a property on the same street where Kabula was arrested and Class C drugs, casg and mobile phones were seized.

The pair were later discovered at another property in the city on September 9 2021 where officers found wraps of Class A drugs.

A property in Norwich was later identified as a base for drug dealing - where Kabula and the 17 year old were arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

Mendes was arrested following reports of suspicious activity in Norwich. A home in London was searched, with police finding ÂŁ3,000 in cash, cannabis and heroin and an imitation firearm.

Detective Inspector Robin Windsor-Waite from Norfolk Police’s County Lines team said:

“The closure of another County Line into Norwich is a great result, and this sentence reflects the severity of the offence."

"This investigation shows we will use all avenues to tirelessly identify these networks and put a stop to their criminal activities.”
