The summer holiday season is officially underway at Norwich Airport.

Flights to a number of sunshine destinations including Turkey, Spain and Crete are starting up again.

Airline TUI is also operating services to Greece, Menorca, Dalaman, Ibiza and Rhodes.

Norwich Airport is offering routes to 18 destinations across nine countries this year and next.

The regional transport hub has recently held a recruitment drive in preparation for the peak season.

More people are expected to get away this year in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Richard Pace, Managing Director of Norwich Airport, said:

“This week really does mark the start of the holiday season for us and we’re delighted that TUI is once again offering such a diverse range of destinations from Norwich.

“Passengers have an excellent choice available from their local airport and we’re already seeing many bookings back to pre-pandemic levels and in some cases even better.

"We’re looking forward to a busy 2022 and can’t wait to welcome passengers back.”

In 2019 and 2020 around 500,000 passengers passed through Norwich. The airport employs around 280 people.
