Three members of the same family have been jailed after a series of assaults in Wisbech.

52 year old Thomas Manning Snr targeted both victims along with Thomas Manning Jr, 26 and Bethany Manning, 24.

Friend Brandon Rooprai, 24, also joined in with the attacks on April 4 2021.

The group drove to the first victim's home, punching him in the face and damaging his property.

They then went to Beechwood Road, where they spotted their second victim; a female friend of the first victim.

The all got out of the car and assaulted her. Police were called and all four were arrested.

The Mannings, all of Mill Close, initially denied the allegations against them. Rooprai, of Norwich Road, admitted to affray.

Manning Snr later admitted to affray and was found guilty of common assault and breach of a non-molestation order at Cambridge Crown Court . He will spend three years and eight months behind bars.

Manning Jnr also admitted to affray and was found guilty of possession of an offensive weapon. He was jailed for two years and two months.

Bethany Manning pleaded guilty to affray and was found guilty of common assault, receiving a sentence of one year and six months.

Rooprai was handed a 12 month suspended sentence.

DC Zoe Slater, of Cambridgeshire Police said:

“The Mannings attacked these two people unprovoked, and I am pleased they will now face the consequences of their actions. Fortunately, neither of the victims was badly hurt, but it could have been very different.”
