Election: Results of the local elections in Norfolk and North Suffolk
Results of the local elections for Norfolk and North Suffolk in May 2021.

Residents in Norfolk and Suffolk headed to the polls on Thursday 6th May to vote in England's local elections.
In Norfolk and Suffolk residents had the chance to vote for their next County Councillors and a Police and Crime Commissioner.
A third of Norwich City Councillors were also up for election.
Council by-elections were also held in some areas including: Great Yarmouth, North Norfolk and East Suffolk.
Most votes in the elections are due to be counted over Friday 7th May and Saturday 8th May, with declarations due shortly after counting finishes.

Norfolk County Council
All 84 seats were up for election at the polls on Thursday.
Going into this election the Conservatives had a majority, holding 54 of the total seats available.
The Conservative's managed to maintain that overall control, gaining an extra four seats in total.

Suffolk County Council
All 75 seats were up for election at the polls on Thursday.
Going into this election the Conservatives had a majority, holding 50 of the total seats available.
The Blues managed to retain overall control of the council and gaining an extra five seats in total.

Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner
A new Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk was also up grabs this year.
The incumbent, Lorne Green, chose not to stand for re-election this time around.
The Conservatives retained the position though, with Giles Orpen-Smellie replacing Mr Green.
Here are the final results:
Giles Orpen-Smellie (Conservative) - 119,994
Michael Rosen (Labour) - 69,552
The other candidates, who didn't make it to the second round of voting, were: John Crofts (Lib Dem), David Moreland (Independent), Martin Schmierer (Green)
Volunteers have been celebrating a long day and night of counting:
Suffolk Police and Crime Commissioner
People in Suffolk also had the chance to vote for who they wanted to be their next Police and Crime Commissioner.
Incumbent, Tim Passmore (Conservative) retained his position with 54.7% of the vote turnout.
Final results:
Tim Passmore (Conservative) - 112,139
Elizabeth Hughes (Labour and Co-Operative Party) - 47,159
Andrew Patmore (Green) - 27,965
James Sandbach (Lib Dem) - 17,801
Norwich City Council
A third of the seats, or 13 places, on Norwich City Council were up for re-election this year.
Of those being contested nine were Labour, three Liberal Democrat, and one Green.
Labour held the majority going into the election, and retained their control over the authority.
The election for the Sewell ward has been delayed until June.

Council by-elections
There were also a number of council by-elections held on the 6th May to fill vacant positions in a number of areas.
In East Suffolk, one seat was available in each of the following: Beccles and Worlingham, and Framlingham wards.

There was also a by-elections in Great Yarmouth for the Clayden and Ormesby - both seats went blue.
Both seats up for by-election in North Norfolk, Coastal and Holt, also went Conservative.
