Do 'Dry January' at the pub to support the sector- Norfolk beer brewer
Hospitality bosses say one of them closed each day in 2025
A local beer brewer in the county is urging those taking part in 'Dry January' to still support their local pub.
It's as new research shows that one in 10 people are going 'teetotal' for the first month of this year.
This is being echoed by hospitality bosses after 2025 saw one pub close each day in 2025.
"Every January we do a 'charity beer'"
David Holliday is from 'Moon Gazer Ales'. He lives and works near Fakenham:
"Pubs have got lots to offer that doesn't just revolve around alcohol. They serve a great deal of food, soft drinks and Teas & Coffees.
"It's important that we all support- where we can- these community centres
"Every January we do a 'charity beer', to support pubs in the main. This year we've introduced two new beers which will be promoting mental health awareness and the work done by the 8:56 foundation.
"This all allows people to try new beers as well that they perhaps wouldn't normally go for.
