Dog dies after suspected poison in Lowestoft

Police are urging dog walkers to remain vigilant

A dog has died following a suspected poison in Lowestoft.

The nine-year-old Bullmastiff was fed an unknown substance, described as 'treats', by an elderly man in the Corton Wood area on 3 March.

It became ill and died the following day.

On Saturday 6 March another dog fell ill after being walked in the same area, it needed veterinary treatment and survived.

While it was not approach by anyone during its walk, the vet said it had eaten something which had poisoned it.

Police are urging dog owners to remain vigilant and contact them if they have any information, quoting 37/11545/21.
