One person dies following crash on the Norfolk Suffolk border

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving

One person has died following a two vehicle crash in Earsham near Bungay.

It happened shortly after 4.30pm yesterday (Sunday 13 August), when a Land Rover Defender and a Nissan Juke collided on the A143 near Old Harleston Road.

One occupant of the Nissan Juke was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, who were in the Land Rover, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Both have also received treatment for injuries sustained in the crash in hospital.

At the time of the collision, police had been pursuing the Land Rover, as part of an investigation into the suspected theft of a vehicle from Suffolk.

As a result, the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct by Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies.
