Vaccination services for mums-to-be, their partners and new parents has been extended at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

A Covid-19 vaccination service in the antenatal clinic began in August, intending to increase vaccination rates amongst pregnant women. Health chiefs encourage all expectant mums to get vaccinated against Covid-19 to protect themselves and their babies against complications of the disease.

The service has now moved to the hospital’s vaccination hub, which offers seven days a week service for those under the care of NNUH maternity services. The service is also available for partners of pregnant women and those who have given birth within 28 days.

Stephanie Pease, NNUH Divisional Midwifery Director, said: “Vaccination offers pregnant women the best protection against Covid-19, which can be very serious during the pregnancy for some women, so we want to make it as easy as possible to access accurate information, as well as the vaccine itself.

“We are thrilled to be able to extend the vaccination offer at NNUH, and I would encourage anyone who is pregnant or recently had a baby to get fully protected against coronavirus.”

The vaccination hub is open every day between 8 am and 7 pm for first, second or covid-19 booster jabs for maternity services users at the hospital. The last walk-in for vaccinations is 4 pm.
