The number of COVID cases in King's Lynn has more than doubled in the last week.

Health bosses revealed this in a press conference on Thursday, and revealed the rate of infection in West Norfolk is at 116 per 100,000 people.

The highest rates are in Great Yarmouth, with 170 cases per 100,000 people, while Breckland has 118 cases per 100,000.

The UK has now been put back into lockdown - and rates in Norfolk continue to rise.

Leader of the county council, Andrew Proctor said it's important for us all to protect each other"

"We've also had a very strong message to people that we need to follow and part of this is about protecting everybody, protecting other people, protecting Norfolk and protecting this NHS.

"We do understand these restrictions are difficult. They impact on people's lives and their livelihoods but if we're going to bring the rates of coronavirus down and protect as many people as we possibly can in the winter months, it's absolutely essential we bring the rates of coronavirus down."
