Thousands of bullets have been found at the foot of cliffs at Pakefield Beach.

Coastguards from Lowestoft were alerted to the find on Friday 5 February, along with Suffolk Police.

The beach was closed for a time with Storm Darcy approaching, but bomb disposal experts weren't needed, as the shells were spent ones that had been buried by the rifle range.

They'd fallen to the beach during a cliff fall in the area.

A clean up is due to take place.

Coastguards are reminding us to keep away from the top and bottom of cliffs when out walking, because they're very sandy, with cliff falls not always obvious in their approach.
