Lifeboats and a Coastguard helicopter are among those who were called to rescue people and pets on board two cruisers which got stuck on mudflats in Norfolk this weekend.

Great Yarmouth and Gorleston RNLI, Hemsby Lifeboat, Everitt Marine Services, and HM Coastguard Helicopter Rescue were involved in the multi-agency response on Breydon Water.

Ebbing tides made the rescue over the weekend tricky, with crews struggling to get close enough to those on board to help them to safety.

Among the 17 people rescued in total were a Mum and her baby.

It wasn't just humans needing a helping hand though, in total three dogs and a rabbit were also rescued from the stranded boats.
