The World Indoor Bowls Championships comes to an end this weekend, at Potters Resort.

Wayne Willgress convincingly beat Mervyn King 2-0 earlier this morning, in the days first quarter-final.

But there's two more to play this afternoon and Tom Weir, the World Bowl tour tournament director says the best could still be yet to come:

"We got three fantastic matches coming up this afternoon. We got the two Scottish guys, Paul Foster vs Michael Stepney then Jamie Chestney vs Les Gillet.

"In the evening, we've got Alex Marshall vs Greg Harlow. There's so many top players left and they are all playing very well- so it's definitely going to be an interesting day".

There have been plety of twists so far this tournament, with several top players being knocked out. Tom added:

"Before this championships, 1999 was the last time that the top four ranked players haven't made the quarter finals. It's strange and last time this all happened in 1999, the winner of the event was unseeded Alex Marshall. Which is interesting".

"There'll be local support in cheering some of the lads on today, if that helps them. But the guys that are left in this event are all experienced and capable of winning this".

Tomorrow Hopton-on-Sea will host four Semi-Finals and the final of Under 25's Singles.

While Sunday will see Colchester Oysters and Nottinghamshire Indoor Bowling Clubs battle it out to become Champion of Champions, in the morning.

The singles final will start at 2:30pm.
