Body found near Norwich believed to be missing man

Police think the body of a man found near Norwich earlier today is that of a missing man.

Officers were called shortly before 11am today (October 18) after a member of the public found a body in a field off the B1108 Watton Road, between the River Yare and Colney Lane.

Former identification is yet to take place but the family of 40 year old James Whitman from Gressenhall, near Dereham have been informed.

James hasn't been seen since the evening of Monday June 13, when he left the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.

The death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious.
