The body of a man discovered in the River Waveney is believed to be that of a man who went missing after a boat sank in the river earlier this week.

Emergency services, including Hemsby Lifeboat and the police and fire service were called to the stretch between Burgh St Peter in Norfolk and Barnby in Suffolk at around 9:45pm (July 10).

Four people managed to get to safety but a man in his 30s couldn't be located in the water.

A body, believed to be his, was discovered at North Cove by a member of the public this morning.

He has not been formally identified but has been named locally as Nathan Strowger.

Suffolk Police say his family have been informed.
