Friends of Horsey Seals have been warning people against walking along the beach now pregnant seals are around.

In a statement on Facebook they said: "If people walk along the beach and frighten Mothers away from their pups by getting too close, literally hundreds of newborns could starve to death.

"In addition, the Bulls, who can weigh up to 305 kilos each, fight with each other for the right to mate with the seal cows, and they could be dangerous to both humans and dogs."

Wardens are asking for people to stay off the beach now until January when pupping season ends.

They added that an announcement is expected soon about what the impact of lockdown will be on the Horsey and Winterton sites.
