Man charged with attempted murder and kidnapping in Suffolk

Police have charged a man in connection with a stabbing and suspected kidnapping in Suffolk.

A woman was reportedly seen in distress in the Yarmouth Road area of Kirby Cane, near Bungay, just after 8.40am on Monday (26 April).

She was then seen being driven away from the address.

Suffolk Police were then notified at 11.20am a woman had been found with stab wounds in Nacton village, near Ipswich.

She was airlifted to Addenbrookes Hospital with serious injuries and remains there in a stable condition.

32-year-old Christopher Crichton, of Park Street in Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex, is due to appear before Norwich Magistrate's Court today (28 April) charged with attempted murder and kidnapping.
