Arrest made after man dies in crash in Ixworth

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A143 at Ixworth.

Officers were called to a two-vehicle collision at 2.40pm yesterday, Monday 7 July, involving a blue Ford Focus and a grey Honda Jazz.

The Ambulance Service took one of the drivers to West Suffolk Hospital but he sadly later died.

The road was closed by the collision and was reopened by 10.15pm.

A 41-year-old man from Thetford was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being questioned by officers.

Police are appealing for any potential witnesses and asking any motorists driving in the area between 2.30pm and 2.40pm with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
