Police are appealing for witnesses after a child was hit by a car in a hit and run crash in Aylsham.

It happened on Red Lion Street at around 4:20pm on May 9, when the child fell from his scooter into the road.

He was then hit by a white car, believed to be a Vauxhall Viva, which failed to stop at the scene.

He suffered an ankle injury and bruising and was treated in hospital.

Anyone who saw what happened or captured dashcam footage is being urged to contact police.
