The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning covering the whole of the East of England on Friday, as Storm Eunice is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain to much of the UK.
The storm is expected to arrive at around 3am, with warnings remaining in place until 9pm on February 18th.
Our region could see winds of over 60mph, with the Met Office warning flying debris or falling trees could pose a danger to life.
Damage to buildings and homes is likely, with the potential for roofs to be blown off and power lines brought down.
Local power firm UK Power Networks is getting ready for the disruption. In a statement it said:
"Our electricity network is built to be resilient but extreme weather can affect overhead power lines. We urge the public to stay well clear from power lines and anyone spotting a damaged power line needs to report it to us immediately.
"We have additional staff on duty covering operational, technical and call centre roles. As always our priorities in these situations are public safety and restoring supplies to customers as quickly and safely as possible."
There could also be major disruption to public transport in the region, with possible road closures or cancellations to bus services or on the railways.
On the coast large waves are likely, with some possible coastal flooding and damage to seafront properties.
It comes as Storm Dudley caused issued across parts of the UK overnight on Wednesday, with reports of power cuts and travel disruption, particularly in the North.
Police forces in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex reported trees down on the region's roads and urged drivers to take care when heading out in Thursday's rush hour.
