A 22 year old cat has been returned home after being put into a plastic bag by a group of children and dumped in a wheelie bin in Wymondham.

It happened at around 5:45pm on Saturday (July 15), with Cleo later being rescued and taken into the care of Norwich based Feline Care Cat Rescue.

Cleo's microchip was out of date but her owners were eventually tracked down.

They'd named her Frankie and had taken her in after she was left behind by her initial owners.

She was two years old than her new owners thought - at the grand old age of 22.

One of her owners said: "We are so pleased to have her home, she is jumping from lap to lap getting all the fuss she can."

"She is currently sat on my lap on the Frankie blankie as we call it."

Cleo/Frankie won't be allowed outside in future unless 'closely supervised'.

Police have been told about the group of children who dumped her and its hoped doorbell footage could help track them down.
