A woman has been taken to hospital following a house fire in Salford.

Emergency crews raced to the scene in Montonmill Gardens early on Tuesday morning.

Firefighters confirmed one person was taken to hospital at around 05:15BST.

Crews remain on the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 5.15am on Tuesday 22 October, GMFRS crews were called to reports of a fire at a home on Montonmill Gardens in Eccles.

“Four fire engines from Eccles, Salford and Agecroft fire stations quickly attended the scene. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reels to extinguish the fire.

"A woman has been taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS).

"GMFRS crews remain at the scene.”
