Woman in critical condition after Manchester crash

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision in Manchester.

Officers were called to Higher Cambridge Street near the Boundary Street West junction at around 12.50 this morning (1st May) after receiving reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a grey Volkswagen Polo.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

PC Phil Drummond, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "As our investigation progresses, our thoughts remain with the woman and her loved ones.

"Though the driver of the vehicle is assisting us with our enquiries, we are appealing to anyone with information or dash cam footage to share it with us."
