Woman attacked at knifepoint in front of child
Police say the 'shocking' attack happened at a peak time in Stalybridge Country Park.
A woman's been pushed to the floor and attacked at knifepoint in front of her child as she walked through a park in Tameside.
It happened just after 6.30pm on Monday 22 August 2016 in Stalybridge Country Park.
Police say they've arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted rape and they're urging any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Inspector Mike Gladwin, of GMP’s Sexual Offences Unit, said: “This was a shocking attack on a woman who was out walking and has left her shaken and terrified.
“It happened in a popular country park at a peak time when people would have been around and must have seen something. “We have arrested one man but our investigation continues. We would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to contact police.”
