Woman arrested after pedestrian hit by car in Bury

A woman has been arrested after a pedestrian was hit by a car and left seriously injured in Bury on Wednesday night (02 October).

The collision happened in Manchester Road, with emergency services rushing to the scene at around 21:30BST.

A woman in her 30s was taken to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The driver - a woman in her 50s - stopped at the scene and was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention and remains in custody.

Police are asking to speak to any witnesses and want to see any dashcam footage of the incident.
