Highways England are urging people to take care on the roads with the weather warnings extended until Friday.

Greater Manchester Police say they already had a number of calls to collisions around the area by 6:30am on Wednesday and have asked people to slow down.

While police in Stockport have advised parents doing the school run to walk or use public transport if they can.

Highways England have sent winter gritting vehicles out to treat the road surfaces and are asking people to give them plenty of room.
