A mother-of-two from Warrington suffering with breast cancer is backing a study which says eating fruit can help reduce the risk of the disease.

The study found eating more apples, oranges, bananas and grapes can lower the risk.

Manchester has the country's highest premature death rate from the disease.

Melanie O'Neill who was diagnosed five years ago, says eating fruit can be useful but needs to be part of a healthier diet if it's to be effective in reducing the risk of cancer.
