A vigil is being held in Warrington town centre to mark one year since Brianna Ghey's death.

Brianna was killed in February 2023, with two teenagers having been found guilty of her murder by Manchester Crown Court last December.

Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe were both 15 when they killed Brianna.

The pair lost their anonymity earlier this month and were sentenced to life in prison - Jenkinson to a minimum of 22 years, and Ratcliffe to a minimum of 20.

Today (Sunday 11th) a vigil will be held in Warrington to mark 12 months since Brianna was murdered in Culcheth Linear Park.

The event, at 3pm, will be held at the Golden Square Shopping Centre, in the Old Marketplace.

The anniversary vigil has been organised by the Peace in Mind campaign, which has been driven by Esther Ghey and the Warrington Guardian.

On a Facebook post, Peace in Mind said: "Understandably, there is a flood of reporting on the two people who took Brianna's life, but I will not let her be forgotten.

"Join us to celebrate the beautiful and sassy girl that she was. I want her to know how much she is loved."
