The Red and Blue halves of Manchester have put their differences to one side, to come together in a bid to end rough sleeping across the city.

United and City players, and legends, turned out to a star-studded charity fundraiser at The Hilton last night.

A staggering ÂŁ216,000 was raised for Tackle 4 MCR - the project started by City captain Vincent Kompany and Mayor Andy Burnham to eradicate homelessness.

Among the stars were Kompany's boss - Pep Guardiola, as well as fellow Blues Fernandinho, Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero.

Manchester United's caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Assistant Coach Mike Phelan both joined in.

Solskjaer told us it doesn't matter which team you support:

"Tonight's not about being Blue or Red, it's about Manchester."

Blues boss Pep Guardiola told us it's everyone's issue:

"It's setting a good example for all the lads and for future generations, it's not just a responsibility for Vinny but I think you have to try for the measures here in Manchester, for everybody to solve the problem, it's not just an issue for Vincent.

"What Vinny has done is incredible but, at the same time, we have to find the best way to completely eradicate it and get rid of that culture, through teaching children in school and get it off the streets,"

Former teammates also attended, including Joleon Lescott and Joe Hart.

Manc legends such as Mani from The Stone Roses, former boxer Ricky Hatton and Bez from the Happy Mondays were all there, as well as figures from the world of TV and showbiz.
