Volunteers have stepped in to save a Christmas tree in Tyldesley which was branded "the worst in Britain" earlier this week.
Unhappy with that title; a team of volunteers rushed to fill the branches of the sad spruce with dozens of decorations ahead of the town's switch on event tomorrow (1st December).
Wigan Council took to Facebook to praise those who took time to revamp it...
"A massive well done to all the volunteers who decorated Tyldesley Christmas tree today!
"It is looking great ahead of Saturday’s festive market and switch on event!
"The decorations were provided by Embrace Charity’s New2You shop and fellow traders."
The event starts at 2pm and will finish with the Christmas Lights Switch-on at 6pm by Leigh Centurions’ Mickey Higham.
There will be around 15 stalls on the market square.
Entertainment includes choirs from two local primary schools and dancing by youngsters from 180 Dance Centre. Father Christmas will start meeting children and distributing presents at 3.30pm.
