Two men arrested in connection with the death of a man at Manchester Airport

A 57-year old taxi driver has died in hospital after being attacked at the airport's Terminal 2 multi-storey car park this morning.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of a man at Manchester Airport.

Shortly after 8.25am on Friday 6 April 2018, police were called to reports of an assault at a car park at Terminal 2 of Manchester Airport.

A 57-year-old taxi driver was taken to hospital where he sadly died.

Enquiries remain ongoing at the scene.

Two men, aged 55 and 26, have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and remain in custody for questioning.

A post mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow.

Detective Chief Inspector Carl Jones, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “We have specially trained officers supporting the man’s family at what is understandably an incredibly difficult time and our thoughts remain with them.

“We have two men in custody but our investigation is still in its very early stages. Several witnesses are currently helping us with our enquiries.”
