Two Labradors have been taken into the care of Manchester and Cheshire Dog's Home after being found running around the M66 at Bury.

The dogs, which have now been nicknamed Flip and Flop, were rescued by a member of the public yesterday, with the help of traffic officers and an appeal has been launched to find their owners.

They were said to be very hungry when found and were fed and watered by Oldham's dog warden before being taken to the dog's home.

GMP Log 446 14/03/18 refers.

The appeal has been shared more than 900 times on Twitter but we understand the owners are yet to come forward.

If you have any information which may lead to their safe return home call 101 and quote the log number 446 14/03/18
