Two Charged Over Bolton Murder

Two men have been charged after a man was murdered in Bolton.

31-year-old Ross Ashcroft of Leonard Street, Bolton has been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

21-year-old Stephen Nambwe of High Street has been charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

Both were remanded into custody to appear before Bolton Magistrates Court on Wednesday 16 December 2015.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance in the early hours of Sunday morning on Brightmeadow Close in Breightmet. On arrival officers found Carlton Alexander with stab wounds. The 23 year old was taken to hospital where sadly he later died.

Three other men were initially arrested in connection with the murder but have since been released without charge.

Carlton's family have paid tribute to him saying: “Our son Carlton was the most loving person, a good brother and loved by all his family. “His closest friends will know what a good hearted and true gentleman he really was. For the short time he was with us, he has touched so many hearts and lives. Always with us, mum, dad, brother.”
