Greater Manchester Police have made two arrest, following a stabbing that left a 19-year-old man in a critical condition.

A 20-year-old man is being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder, and a woman, also 20, on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Officers received reports of the stabbing at around 11.30pm on Sunday (22 January), on Stockport Road in Levenshulme.

The perimeter incorporates Alma Road/Highfield Road, Nelstrop Road North, Errwood Road and Crossley Road/Cringle Road and there is also an increased police presence in the area whilst officers continue with their investigation.
