Trafford General hit by lightning
Firefighters are dealing with a fire in the roof

Part of Trafford General Hospital has been struck by lightning, causing a fire in the roof.
Fire crews are at the scene and a small number of patients have been evacuated from one of the wards as a precaution.
A statement from the hospital reads:
"We can confirm an area of Trafford General Hospital has been struck by lightening which has caused a fire in an area of the roof.
A small number of patients and staff have been safely evacuated from one ward andGreater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are currently in attendance.
This is an ongoing incident."

Thunder and lightning strikes hit Greater Manchester throughout Wednesday afternoon.
Fire crews spent the night damping down, and tell us they're not concerned about the building's structure or the risk of a collapse.
