Police have arrested a group of teenagers following a crime spree in Rochdale during which an elderly man was hit with a brick.

Police have arrested a group of teenagers following a crime spree in Rochdale during which an elderly man was hit with a brick.

There were a total of seven incidents, all involving vehicles, on Monday 2nd April 2018.

Five boys and girls, between the ages of 14 and 16, are being questionned on suspicion of robbery, assault and criminal damage.

Detective Inspector Mark McDowall GMP’s Rochdale borough, said:

“It is understandably concerning for local residents to see teenagers causing harm and fear in their community.

“With great assistance from the public, we have been able to make five arrests. Rochdale officers, supported by colleagues from around Greater Manchester, are working diligently to gather evidence and bring those responsible to justice.

“We have increased patrols in the area and I’d encourage anyone with concerns to speak to these officers directly.

“Also, if you saw a group of teenagers acting suspiciously yesterday afternoon or evening, or have information that could help with this investigation, please contact police.”
